Breguet is a Swiss luxury watch manufacturer founded in 1775 by Abraham-Louis Breguet in Paris. The brand is credited with inventing or substantially advancing numerous horological mechanisms, including the tourbillon (patented in 1801), the first wristwatch (made for Caroline Murat, Queen of Naples, in 1810), the Breguet overcoil (a terminal curve for balance springs), and the pare-chute shock protection system.
